Paris Fashion Week

Paris seems so far now. Even though it hasn't been a week since I got back from a trip to Paris for a weekend. This season, my and my friend has decided to skip Milan Fashion Week for Paris. The long awaiting planning and decision come finally alive once we get to the train with a final destination of Paris.

I have been in Paris many times. Last time, last year actually. We both were actually in Paris, so we saved our time by skipping many touristic attractions and focus on what we wanted to see and get out from our short trip.

Saturday we spent on couple of shows and then rest of the day just wondering around the Paris. I hope you have seen my Insta stories, because I have shared some really great locations and sneak peak live from the catwalk. Here is a visual summary of my very first Paris Fashion Week.

Attending Veronique Leroy show makes me feel to come back to the spring, summer season again. This lineup of collection emphasis a lot of leg. From bodysuits, to shirt-dresses and wrap skirts. What was very catchy about the show was the choice of the song that the designer has chosen. Her mixture of fabric from fringe to lace was a great playful and distinctive choice for her new Spring/Summer 2018 collection.

K-Fashion show was a good 20 minute shot (approximately) with about 5 Korean designers, each with different aesthetic. I love everything from the start to the end of the show. It is such a great inspiration to see various designers, styles and views on silhouettes and fashion in one go.
All designers focused on different silhouettes and attempts and movement of our lifestyle and trends. Designers showing on that evening were Beyond Closet, General Idea, Kye, Ti:Baeg and Moon J.

A major exhibition to celebrate 70 years of Dior was held in the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. The exhibitions marks the celebrations with the full timeline of Dior history. Starting from classic gowns back in 1974, so called "New Look". The silhouette that brought the designer house rapid fame. In the musuem, we could have read the personal life of Christian Dior. His early creations, his art museum ownership as well as how Yves Saint Laurent or John Galliano started off their career under Dior house.

Another rooms explores the haute couture dresses from various famous shows that you might have seen pictures of. The rooms were decorated in a garden style, as like Dior likes it. After the garden, we would arrive into a white room with padded jacket style and other testing pieces where we could meet some of Dior seamstress in actions. Upon reaching the large final gallery - the Dior ballroom, where you will get fascinated by the many beautiful dresses, shimmering projections and celebrity red carper looks.
