KOH PHI PHI
After travelling on the land, we have finally arrived to the islands of Thailand. Thailand is known for many islands and for its beautiful beaches and it was indeed amazing!
Those turquoise sparkling water, soft sand that melts on your feet and the view on different lands.
Last days of our Thailand trip we have spend just chilling and enjoying the sea. We flew into Phuket and spent a night in Phuket city, as it was near to get to the harbour, which we took a boat next day to Koh Phi Phi. We haven't seen much of Phuket and nor its beaches around as Phuket City is the "capital" of Phuket Province and is very much historical place.
In the Old Town of Phuket city, you won't miss those colourful 19-th century buildings in Portugese style, built in 1903. It was very different from other parts of Thailand cities, as you suddenly feel like you are somewhere else.
After a night wondering around the city, next morning we took a ferry boat from Rassada Pier to Tonsai Pier on Koh Phi Phi. We have booked the tickets couple days in advance and it took about 2 hours to get to an island. Getting to the boat, they have divide us into different groups according to what ticket you have bought, and the ferry was full of Western people literally.
While you are getting closer to Koh Phi Phi, you will pass viking cave as well as the well know Maya Bay. You will have later on plenty of opportunities to get back for a day or half day trip. I remember the moment getting off the boat.
It was a pleasant "shock" to my eye to see the beautiful scenery around.
Koh Phi Phi is beautiful small island. Very popular for diving and for the famous Maya Bay (for those who remember the scene of Tom Cruise on Maya Bay in the movie called The Beach).
I would say it is more popular among millenials, and not very family oriented.
The only way to get around the island is either by walk or by water boat taxi. I suggest you staying around Tonsai village, because that is where everything is basically. All the supermarkets, ATMs, restaurants, excursion trips offices and bars.
