VENICE
COMO
Our last Italian stop was in Venice.
Venice was magical. The moment when I get off from the train station, I was mesmerized by the early evening lights and the magical view on the old building reflecting above the water.
Venice was my ultimate destination from the whole Italian holidays. We have spent there 2 and half days and was more then enough to explore the necessary. Luckily, we were there during La Biennale Venezia. Therefore we spent a lot of time hopping from one gallery to another exhibition. Despite of this art festival, Venice has many art and contemporary museums which pleasantly surprise me!
Venice is a city built on canals. So, having a bus boat ride or boat taxi is totally a common and normal thing. It is not that easy to walk on foot here, as there are many dead end roads. So you have to either walk all around to find a bridge or the easiest way to take a bus.
Our place was located just few minutes from the main San Marco square. Therefore, it was pretty easy to get around the most important things. It is so easy to get lost around there and it feels like everytime you are finding new places! That's the most exciting thing about Venice.
We have arrived on Monday evening to this beautiful city. After we checked-in and had a dinner, we head out to explore the surrounding of the hotel. We spent our evening around Grand Canal and San Marco square where beautiful orchestra is playing each night. Before midnight we returned back to our beautiful hotel.
The next morning, we weren't in rush at all. We took this trip in a very calm, "relaxing" way and wasn't rushing from place to place. After our breakfast, we head out to San Marco square again to see it in full and in bright. This day was dedicated for major sight seeing and just wondering around.
The last day we spent majority of time on art exhibitions until it was art overloaded. We went to see the other side of Venice as well and just walked a lot.
Stay tuned for upcoming Venice guide post!
