Milan Fashion Week was a blast. So it has been a while since I came back from Milano, if you might have known. It was a great opportunity to visit Milano as the city for the first time together to attend Milan Fashion Week. It was very hectic month, as I was going away every weekend and try to balance it with school work too, but still managable! (thanks god there are no exams or deadlines anytime soon around corner). The main goal of my trip was just to explore Milan city and check the fashion scene during fashion week time there, thus it was such an experience and excitement when I have received couple of invitations for shows and presentations.
The first show that I have attended was Atsushi Nakashima show on Friday evening. Atsushi is a Japanese designer and his Autumn/Winter 2016 collection called "Harmonization" celebrate a traditional culture influence with modern elements. Love the entire collection. He has clearly showed how to use pop of colours during Autumn/Winter clothing.
On Friday I had down for Ermanno Scervino show in the afternoon, where I was seated in the second row. The show itself took place in a different place, so it was interesting to see different setting and surrounding. You can see already full photos on their website. The collection has a mixture of lace dresses, sculpted silhouette coats and suits with emphasis on the waist, A line maxi skirts and slim trousers. Multicolour fur collars and hats give a final touch to the whole collections.
Last show on Sunday morning before heading to the airport was a collection by Alberto Zambelli. Interestingly, when we stayed through Airbnb, our host was working in a team under Alberto Zambelli, therefore it connect us even more, when she told me she has graduated from Istituto Marangoni (where I studied) and she is also a passionate fashionista. She gave us some great tips around Milan Fashion Week and also places to eat, thus Airbnb again was a great choice to meet and talk to local people! (Sign up through my link to get some credit for your next trip!)
Alberto Zambelli lives and work between Milan, Tokyo and Shanghai and has graduated from Istituto Marangoni in Milan too. His fall/winter collection was inspired by two film characters - Maria Altmann and Einar Wegener (the Danish painter whose story is portrayted in The Danish Girl movie). In this collection you will see a mixture of masculinity and feminity dialogue.
Saturday was running from a show to showroom to another showrooms. These photos were taken during L'autre chose showroom of their new spring summer collection and totally fallen in love with their accessories and shoe collection.
Duvetica showroom on the other hand showed us their fall/winter collection in their minimalistic place and ordered it by monochrome and shades of colours. Love how they make simple clothes more appealing by positioning and visually engaging.

The annual Milan Fashion week is one of biggest fashion events. Everything which is showcased is always mesmerizing. I wish I could have attended it! There is a similar fashion event at a local domestic event space and really want to attend it.
